This Spring Internship is from January 12, 19 or 26, 2026 through April 24th, 2026 (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours/week, in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.
Music Creative Affairs provides music support for the Columbia Motion Picture Group, TriStar, Screen Gems, Acquisitions, International and Sony Pictures Animation. This includes hiring of composers, song writers, music editors, soundtracks and overseeing the physical production of orchestrated music. We also license existing music and creating soundtracks. This Intern will report to the President of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, Music.
Responsibilities:
Creative Song and Song Trends Research
Competitive industry trends research
Read scripts to create music “spotting notes”
Organizing music databases and library
Create and maintain music charts
Song label and publishing research
Composer research
General office duties including answering phones, making copies, etc.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in school or university during the duration of the internship with relevant education in a related field
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Prior marketing/publicity/entertainment experience is helpful but not required
A good work ethic and a good attitude for learning in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Intern experience at a record label
Music publisher and/or film/tv studio music department experience
