求人ID JR112286 応募する 保存された求人を表示We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Manager to join Sony Pictures Classics, playing a key role in driving the theatrical success of our film slate. This individual will partner closely with the VP of Sales to shape distribution strategies, lead exhibitor negotiations, and maximize box office performance across key U.S. territories. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the independent film landscape, strong industry relationships, and a sharp ability to translate market insights into impactful sales strategies.
Responsibilities
- Strategize with VP Sales on how to optimize sales revenue for each release. This involves knowledge of the independent film product & industry, it’s target audience & demographics, competition and recent and/or anticipated market trends. Based on knowledge of the salability of the film, establish a targeted scope of distribution in territories representing half of the U.S. so as to maximize potential sales revenue. Analyze industry trends, such as distribution patterns, movie demographics, circuit positioning etc. Consult with sales team in determining the need for screenings and trailers and where they will be most effective. Organize with Exhibitor Relations Coordinator on trailer and digital display placement.
- Conduct sales negotiations with theatre exhibitors, which involve settling the terms and conditions (ideally at the high end of established industry-wide parameters), for licensing each particular film to theatre circuits/owners
- Consult with Marketing Dept. in reviewing the digital assets for use in theatres and sharing ideas that may benefit the theater exposure. Coordinate with theatres’ marketing departments and SPC’s marketing team the assets the theatres would need to advertise, promote or otherwise publicize any of our releases
- Re-negotiate terms with exhibitors in select markets should the film not perform as expected in order to maintain strong client relationships and maximize future sales potential
- Create Sales Sheets and Presentations for use in booking our films with exhibitors
- Report weekend grosses to others within the company when needed
- Travel to meet with exhibitors - his involves but not limited to attending conventions, conferences, visits to exhibitors’ home offices. Some of these business trips may include giving presentations for large groups, staging trade show booths, and/or planning outings such as meals, special interest events, etc.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Co-Presidents, publicity department, and the sales team to align on sales strategy
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and performance for one direct report: Sales Coordinator. This includes assignment and prioritization of workload; approval of requests for vacation (VP Sales & Operations included); staff development; resolution of staff performance issues and disciplinary action, as well as sales related strategy and issues
- Write Weekend Box Office Report - the Manager will report to others within the Company and report weekend grosses to the trades
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in film distribution and dealing with exhibitors
- Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent negotiating and dispute resolution skills
- Ability to identify work priorities and requirements up-front and manage workflow
- Ability to work independently and think strategically
- Skill in establishing on-going relationships of trust and understanding
- Strong service orientation, attention to detail, strong teamwork skills, the ability to work on several tasks concurrently
- Flexibility and able to adapt quickly to changing needs
- Knowledge of the independent film industry required and theatres nationwide
- Experience in film distribution and dealing with exhibitors; 2-5 years of experience
