General Summary:
The Director, is a visionary and execution-focused leader responsible for driving scalable growth and long-term monetization strategy across Sony’s digital advertising business in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the US Hispanic markets.
This role is accountable for designing and leading an integrated digital operations framework that aligns sales, programming, content, and platform initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of digital media, advertising technologies, and cross-regional business coordination to enable high-impact revenue strategies across Sony Pictures Television’s connected portfolio.
Ultimately, a successful Director will contribute to the on-going efforts of the Ad Sales team leading to disproportionate increase in advertising revenues generated by the networks represented by SPT Ad Sales Latin America versus our competitors. The person in this role will report directly to the VP, Ad Sales for Latin America. The key elements to this position are:
- Strategic Leadership: Design and oversee the digital monetization framework supporting Sony’s owned-and-operated platforms and partner integrations, ensuring alignment with regional business goals and divisional strategies.
- Team & Partnership Development: Collaborate with sales teams and ad tech experts, while managing key third-party ad sales partners to ensure operational excellence and revenue performance.
- Revenue Strategy & Performance Management: Develop and execute an integrated ad revenue growth strategy across Latin America in collaboration with other Sony divisions. Own key performance metrics and drive accountability across internal and external teams.
- Inventory & Pricing Strategy: Work with the VP and Director of Ad Sales Services in the development of pricing models, yield optimization practices, and inventory management processes for the SPE Connected portfolio, ensuring a balanced and scalable monetization approach across direct and programmatic channels.
- Cross-functional Alignment: Partner with programming, production, and agency teams to design funding models and branded content strategies that contribute to revenue growth and enhance long-term digital IP value.
- Market & Operational Intelligence: Monitor market dynamics and ad tech evolution to continuously refine strategy, operational models, and partnership structures, ensuring Sony remains at the forefront of digital monetization innovation.
Core Responsibilities:
50% Strategic Revenue & Monetization Planning
- Develop and execute a unified digital ad revenue growth strategy across Latin America, including coordination with other Sony divisions.
- Establish and manage key performance metrics, ensuring strategies are data-driven and focused on sustainable revenue expansion.
- Implement scalable tools and frameworks for managing sell-through rates, CPM optimization, and inventory utilization across all digital ad channels.
- Oversee inventory management practices to optimize revenue across direct, passive, and programmatic channels.
- Standardize and streamline operational workflows, reporting, and governance to improve campaign delivery and revenue recognition.
- Monitor performance and drive accountability with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party sales partners.
20% Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with content, programming, production, and brand teams to develop revenue-accretive content monetization strategies.
- Build commercial models for branded content, brand integrations, and digital sponsorships that align with business development and IP creation goals.
20% Demand Partner Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new demand-side partners (DSPs, ad networks, exchanges, agencies) to increase fill rates, CPMs, and overall programmatic revenue.
- Build a roadmap for scaling demand sources in alignment with inventory capabilities and business objectives.
- Manage ongoing relationships with demand partners to ensure performance optimization, deal health, and strategic alignment.
10% Innovation & Market Intelligence
- Stay ahead of market trends, technologies, and regulatory shifts to inform ongoing strategy adjustments.
- Drive the adoption of innovative monetization models and emerging ad technologies that expand revenue potential and operational capability.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in digital advertising, media operations, or related strategic roles.
- Proven success in managing cross-regional digital strategies preferably within a media, entertainment, or tech environment.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and operational planning skills.
- Expertise in programmatic, direct, and hybrid ad sales models.
- Full Fluency in English and Spanish are required (written/spoken). Portuguese is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
